Zina ukaona:Ramadan Fight

You probably know that anzathu azikofiya nayamba ramadan.A period of great spiritual concetration and purification.Well since sindine mmodzi wa iwo i just felt the mood of the season in other arenas. The Shops are opened late,if at all. Those along the sea, lucky for me,are always opened because of tourists and christians.

A funny thing happened to day.I was busy watching wrestling when my room mate called me to come and see something. He was looking down from our tenth floor to the road of our street.I came over and watched a every fierce fight.A man,a ndevu ngati a sheik ,was fighting another man,who from my deductions seems to be an itinerant diesel trader.A group of other people were trying to break the fight.there was a big commotion, almost everyone was watching the fight from their floor.

It was funny that during a supposedly holy period i could watch such an event.Talk of njala yawo the whole day!!

I took some photos odf the eventr from the tenth floor using my mp5 player...its not so clear..the itenerant trader was in the yellow truck if you look clearly on the pic..

My Reflection:Egypt -1

Egypt never ever got into my sphere of thinking that i would be here, and let alone studying!
When the opportunity came i was actually not interested. How could i go and study in an arab country?.I did not apply actually till the last day for turning in applications.I was bus with my USAP stuff and worried about my college essay and SAT Scores ,and whether to retake the exams or add some more subject tests. So when my friend Allan said he was submitting his application papers,i thought'what do i got to lose, pyramids or no pyramids, doesnt matter to me.So i submited my application. For weeks i thought i may hear from then. Then months!.I was disappointed .I forgot about it and burried myself into the hassle n bassle of assembling my college application. They had released the results,i later learnt. The cotact number i gave them wasnt working.I got the news a week before the schedued day.I was excited and terrified.Happy to have gotten the opportunity, terrified that i may not meet the deadline.By then i had no passport yet and lots of stuff.Lucky for me ,i had some connections that pulled strings ,and i got my passport in 24 hours.Long story short i left that friday, south African Airways(fantastic),then Egypt Air(a bit boring).Ten hours later i was in Cairo.

Like you ,i thought that the moment i got off the plane,i would see pyramids and some romantic fantasies ascribed to Egypt.I strained my eyes staring through the taxi window in hope of catching a glimpse of pyramids .I was disappointed.Cairo was jst like any modern cities.Tall buildings and stuff. All things modern and western.

Egypt is a great country.Nice infrastructure:roads, tansport system and stuff.
